Dirba is a village in Sangrur district which is known as a backward area. There was no School for girls in the area where girls could pursue higher education. Opened by the Dhiman family on May 5, 2008, on 7 acres, the School is a major initiative in itself. Where girls from poor families from different villages of the area get the opportunity to get an education. The School provides a comfortable and safe environment for students to study.
The School is located at a distance of 3 km from Dirba which is affiliated with P.S.E.B Mohali. It is surrounded by lush green fields, tall shade trees, and beautiful scenery. In addition to the hardworking and experienced staff of the School, the School has a good building, library, computer lab, Wi-Fi and common room for girls.
Today’s learning environment is forcing us to think of some new concepts that were set when the School was opened, as well as the educational needs of the students and the new expectations of the parents from the children. The spirit of flying to foreign countries is on the tongue of every child today!
But not every family can fulfill their child’s desire. So School wants to do something new for such girls! In the changing social context, the School is looking at a new challenge to make girls successful in social, family and employment in their home country.
Therefore, in order to further enhance the academic performance of the School, we are going to start 11th and 12th Standard classes.
The School is diligently fulfilling its responsibility towards the education needs of the area and strives for a bright future for the girls!
I am very proud to share with the residents of Dirba area that Vishavkarma Sen. Sec. School for Girls, Dirba (Sangrur) is stepping into the new academic year 2025-26.On behalf of the entire Dhiman family, the main objective of the establishment of this School is not only to spread higher education for rural girls but also to provide affordable but high quality education to every household in the area.
Education is essential for the holistic development of human beings, especially girls. The School also advocates the notion that if a boy studies then one person reads but when a girl (woman) studies then the whole family reads because a girl has to handle important tasks like daughter, sister, wife and mother.
With the above objective in mind, the School strives to provide progressive opportunities in the field of education as well as in the field of culture and sports. This is evidenced by the achievements made by the students in the field of education, culture, folk arts and sports in the last few years such as participating in university youth festivals and receiving prizes!
From time to time yoga camps, NSS programs are organized to motivate the girls to live a decent life in the society. Camps, seminars and workshops are organized. In a similar vein, keeping in view the post-graduation needs of the girls in the area, the School will offer MA in various subjects from the next session. Is also going to start classes.
In today’s age of struggle, girls’ education demands special attention as the trend of girls from Punjab settling in foreign countries is gaining momentum. Keeping in view this trend, while special attention is given to English subject in the School, priority is given to enable girls to achieve success in their country by improving the standard of local education. – Clean bus service is also available.
I welcome the students who have come to the School for admission and I assure their parents that I and all the staff of my School will do their best for the betterment of the future of the girls.
